The first exhibition brings together four artists who approach the self-referential in different ways: Chuli Herrera from the chronicle of his moods with his series of twelve pieces Mirror Selfies; Elvis Céllez, from a diptych that summarizes the subjective condition of the author, not without his usual tints of realism and exposure of social conditions. Adrián Socorro, makes an introspection on how to be oneself, constantly exploring the possibilities not only of the pictorial surface, but also the discursive possibilities of the genre itself in the current century by presenting different scenarios and chronicles of his everyday life. Alejandro Ramírez Astudillo inserts himself with the piece Experimentación no.11 (Proyecto gráfico-psicológico Alberto), an engraving that explores his relationship with his brother and the guidelines that establish their filial bond. The image of oneself constitutes the space of contemplation, of the psyche, of the alteration of the spirit, of the surrender of the self to itself and its disturbances. It is the being and its impossibility of maintaining its state of equilibrium in the face of the schizophrenia that surrounds it, even more aggravated in the historical horizon in which the pieces were created. Part I confirms the vitality and persistence of the genre, with fresher and more valid codes, from a language that is not afraid to use tropes, to make use of the text and to tell from the intimate.
